In the late 3rd century, Dual Emperors Diocletian and Maximian exerted an iron grip over the people of the Roman Empire. They hunted the Circulum Liberalis (Assassins) while using the Christians as scapegoats. Alexandria is the Circulum's last major stronghold in the Empire.
